catapult logo exploration
So yes, the logo swoosh has been over done. but I thought it ignorant of me not to at least attempt the illusion of an object literally being catapulted threw the air. Catapult, LLC is the holding company for Maltese Hockey. A brand I’ve been working with for many years now. Their emphasis is on the ever supportive edge of a fast-paced games security. They provide gel-padding products that further aid in the protection of goaltenders and players alike. I wanted a mark that eluded to a fast-forward momentum. But this may be over the top. Will post others as I produce.

Blue was the choice and away we went. Once the homepage and ordering pages were approved, we then moved onto full site production creating every graphical element from callouts to icons. Several flash pieces were needed including a step process on what SeeHere offers it’s customers. We were really happy with it once finished but like everything else, the final development was handed off along with a full style guide. It’s hard losing control over a project you worked so closely with for several months. This photo sharing site’s pretty cool. It allows you to not only share but customize your sharing pages as well as offer way to many photo gifts. To checkout the live site, though I can’t be responsible for graphic updates that have been altered since launch, click here. Our second approach to this design took all client feedback and combined the Elegant and Bold concepts together as one. Tim and I took our stabs at container vs. vertical flow feels. The background texture was part of the original tan Craft design from round 1. The client really liked it and wanted to use it as a more relevant brand asset. We agreed and Tim incorporated it into his designs. By this point we were still playing with callout positions but were starting to hone in on the preferred brand look of Fuji’s new site. casual game portal

I wanted to share a design that was made for consideration, conceptually, for the casual gaming community at comcast(dot)net. Several rounds of user testing got us to the name Chill where we were to create a casual atmosphere for gamers to play. This design lent itself to being mood driven by the user. Demonstrated here by this cheesy animated gif above. The background could change in a game like setting preference module. The logo type was a mix of sketches and font faces. The glass container kept it modern and clean while the personal passport kept an ongoing tally of your progress. With ads being an integral part of the site’s revenue, we were tasked with finding a way to incorporate several ad sizes in prominent positions. I like how the slightly tilted borders kept the overall design a little loose and fun. NOTE: This information is published for the sole purpose of demonstrating the design process.
