casual game portal

I wanted to share a design that was made for consideration, conceptually, for the casual gaming community at comcast(dot)net. Several rounds of user testing got us to the name Chill where we were to create a casual atmosphere for gamers to play. This design lent itself to being mood driven by the user. Demonstrated here by this cheesy animated gif above. The background could change in a game like setting preference module. The logo type was a mix of sketches and font faces. The glass container kept it modern and clean while the personal passport kept an ongoing tally of your progress. With ads being an integral part of the site’s revenue, we were tasked with finding a way to incorporate several ad sizes in prominent positions. I like how the slightly tilted borders kept the overall design a little loose and fun. NOTE: This information is published for the sole purpose of demonstrating the design process.
